Product Description
Cold rolled carbon steel coil is manufactured by pickling hot rolled strip to remove scale, then rolling it at room temperature to achieve thinner gauges, tighter tolerances and a superior surface finish. After annealing and skin passing, the coil offers excellent flatness and consistent mechanical properties.
At JGT Group, we supply cold rolled carbon steel coil in thicknesses from 0.15mm to 3.5mm and widths from 600mm to 2000mm. Common grades include SPCC, SPCD, SPCE, DC01, DC03, DC04, ST12 and CS Type B, manufactured in accordance with JIS G3141, EN 10130, ASTM A1008 and GB/T 708 standards.
The smooth, clean surface of cold rolled coil makes it the preferred substrate for electro-galvanizing, painting and color coating. Drawing and deep drawing quality grades are available for demanding forming operations such as automotive body panels and appliance shells.
With an annual output of 200,000 tons, JGT Group is a reliable cold rolled carbon steel coil manufacturer and supplier serving customers in more than 100 countries. We support customized dimensions, slitting and packaging, and every shipment includes a mill test certificate.
Main Features
1. Superior Surface Finish
Cold rolling produces a smooth, bright, defect-free surface that cannot be achieved by hot rolling. This makes cold rolled carbon steel coil the ideal substrate for painting, powder coating, electro-galvanizing and color coating, where surface quality directly determines the final appearance of the product.
2. Precise Thickness Tolerances
Cold rolled coil is rolled at room temperature with advanced gauge control, achieving thickness tolerances far tighter than hot rolled material. Consistent strip thickness reduces material waste and guarantees stable performance in automated stamping and roll-forming lines.
3. Excellent Formability & Deep Drawing
Grades such as SPCE, DC04 and ST14 offer outstanding deep drawing performance, allowing complex shapes to be formed without cracking. This makes cold rolled coil the preferred material for automotive body panels, appliance shells and intricate precision components.
4. Consistent Flatness & Mechanical Properties
After annealing and skin passing, the coil exhibits excellent flatness and uniform mechanical properties across the full length and width. This consistency simplifies downstream processing and ensures every stamped or formed part meets the same quality standard.
5. Ideal Coating Substrate
The clean, uniform surface of cold rolled coil provides excellent adhesion for zinc, paint and polymer coatings. Cold rolled strip is the standard base material for electro-galvanized coils, GI/GL coils and PPGI, delivering long-lasting corrosion protection.
6. Consistent Quality & Factory-Direct Supply
Each coil is inspected for chemical composition, mechanical properties, surface condition and dimensional accuracy, with a mill test certificate provided for every order. As a factory-direct supplier, JGT Group offers competitive cold rolled carbon steel coil prices with reliable on-time delivery.

FAQ
Q1. What is cold rolled carbon steel coil?
Cold rolled carbon steel coil is produced by pickling hot rolled strip and rolling it at room temperature, followed by annealing and skin passing. It offers a smooth surface, tight thickness tolerances and excellent formability, making it ideal for automotive, appliance and precision stamping applications.
Q2. What is the difference between cold rolled and hot rolled coil?
Cold rolled coil is processed from pickled hot rolled strip at room temperature, providing thinner gauges (0.15mm–3.5mm), a smoother surface, tighter tolerances and better flatness. Hot rolled coil is thicker (1.2mm–25mm) with a scaled surface and lower cost. Cold rolled coil is generally more expensive due to additional processing.
Q3. What do SPCC, DC01 and ST12 grades mean?
SPCC is the Japanese grade for commercial quality cold rolled steel (JIS G3141), DC01 is the European grade (EN 10130), and ST12 is the German grade (DIN 1623). They are equivalent commercial drawing grades. SPCD/DC03 and SPCE/DC04 offer progressively better deep drawing performance.
Q4. Can you supply deep drawing quality cold rolled coil?
Yes. We supply SPCD/DC03 and SPCE/DC04 deep drawing grades designed for severe forming operations such as automotive body panels and appliance shells. Please provide your application details and we will recommend the most suitable grade.
Q5. What is your MOQ and delivery time?
Our MOQ is one 20' container (about 25 tons), and trial orders are accepted for samples. Standard production lead time is 7–15 days after deposit, depending on specification and quantity. We ship from Tianjin Port, China, and can arrange FOB, CIF, CFR and DDP terms.
Q6. Can you provide customized sizes and processing?
Yes. We offer slitting, cut-to-length, edge trimming, oiling and custom packaging. You can specify thickness, width, inner diameter and coil weight according to your production needs.
Q7. Do you provide quality certificates?
Every order includes a Mill Test Certificate covering chemical composition and mechanical properties. Third-party inspection such as SGS, BV and TUV is available upon request.
